First order of business:
We need total reorganization. I'll be redoing this page to the best of my ability, updating it with all the progress we have made so far.
Second:
I think it best, as does Spike and Anj, that a system of checks and balances should be in order. Therefore, each department will be given a reference. A sort of overseer that has everything run past him/her to go into the big plan. Then of course there are the general overseers: anj, spike, and myself seeing if the idea is still good.
Now this may seem like your idea might get crushed somehow in the process of one person not liking it but who knows some other people might kind of mentality. While we can't prevent this from always happening, we will try our best to not let your little brain child get washed away in the tide. This is the best system we could come up with next to voting on everything and honestly, who wants to spend the time making all those polls for every minor detail. Waste of time and energy.
Third:
The remaining members of the U.M.D. need to do some massive recruiting. We are gonna need a lot more manpower than our present strength. Not just anyone though! Only those who are qualified such as the willingness to work, creativity, writing or doujin skills, and most importantly the love of manga!!!
Fourth:
I'm sorry but if you don't contact ME within the next hmmm two to three weeks I'll give you, that you are still in on this, then I will have to take you out of your desired field. I won't disband you from the group altogether unless it becomes apparent that you aren't going to do anything whatsoever anymore. You will just have to reapply for your desired department(s).
1. There is only to be 1 submission per person, per character. The drawing must be submitted in character layout form noting key character features such as clothing styles, colors, weapons, etc. unless stated to you directly otherwise. The drawings should only be drawn in pen, pencil, or any other monochromatic media. No color for your official submission please.
2. Design your character accordingly. The setting is a magical, monsters and gods kind of place so there aren't going to be giant robots and tanks and guns etc. in it so take that into account when designing.
3. If you have additional character schematic points that don't fit into your single submission DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER SUBMISSION! just put it in the group email or email it directly to buggydude, anjhurin, or spikespiegel.
4. Characters up for submission at this time are Rain and Summer
5. For now submissions will only be taken from those who are members of either the u.m.p. the d.s.c. or the doujin-arena groups. If further submissions are necessary then it will be opened to all M.T. members
6. The deadline for the first 2 characters is April 1st after which voting will commence (rules on voting will be given when the time comes) late submissions may be taken into consideration.
7. Prize for winning? Your character will be used in the ump's manga and you will be recognized as the creator of that character. NOTE that your character will be subject to change even though it may win and by submitting you understand that you are relinquishing your character's design for us to use in this project, BUT if you wanna have an active role in your characters final product then join U.M.P. if you haven't already!
8. You have to submit the drawings in MT (doujinshi section), and send the link to one of the following members : Buggydude, Spikespiegel or Anjhurin, along with the name of drawn character, so that we can keep a track on things.
9. Please be kind enough to advertise for the club / contest in the drawing description ^_^
10. Drawings will be displayed in a thread where you can also send the links of your submissions. Said thread will be used for contest purpose only, and will be updated on a constant basis. It might also become a voting thread after the end of submissions.

Rain - somewhat the main character of the story. His father was a general in the royal army but was killed by Crall (unknown to Rain). The boy is well trained in the art of combat (especially sword fighting) and unaware that he carries the biggest piece of Balthazar inside of him, thus he's targeted by Xzar believers. He's a childhood friend of Summer. Main fighter.
Summer - Rain's childhood friend. They grew up together. Her mother died at birth and her father soon followed (reason unknown... could be the work of Balthazar's followers). She was raised by her grandmother. She has the scroll written on her body (the letters appear only while using it or after coasting the right spell). Kind and carrying, the heart of the team.
Theo - he was one of the soldiers in the royal army (thinking about making him half-demon). After Rain's father death he became the priest of Belios. After Balthazar's fall he looked for the scrolls, which finally made his paths cross with Rain and Summer. Rather a mage that once was a great fighter, thus he helps Rain in training. The brain of the team.
Crall - one of the main, bad guys. King's advisor how secretly works to release Balthazar once more. He uses artifacts given by the Demon Lord and commands weaker demons while searching for Balthazar's Children.
Fall - one of Balthazar's Children (not human... for now race not decided) who uses a cloak of leaves in a fight. Got thrown out of her home town. Unsure of her decisions, decided to join Rain and his party after learning more about their mission. She's also an object of Wint's feelings. Main, female fighter in team.
Wint - a demon hunter who uses many weapons in a fight (none of Balthazar's Artifacts though). His parents were killed during Balthazar's invasion when he was really young (shouldn't be older then three years from Rain, Summer and Fall). At first he tries to kill Rain, but seeing that his target is not a bad guy (and falling in love with Fall who is a Balthazar's Child as well) decides to aid them in their quest. Mostly a serious character. One of the main fighters (so far the only, non Balthazar Children fighter).
MT manga, BOOK I
Welcome to Rivia, the world of nature, magic and mystical creatures.
In this world everything is perfectly balanced. In this world, good cannot overcome evil and evil cannot overcome good.
The balance stays unharmed, thanks to the Five Gods , that watch over this world:
Ignus (name can be changed), the god of fire and power;
Meeve (name can be change), the goddess of water and life;
Gaia (name can be changed), the goddess of earth and nature;
Crinos (name can be changed), the god of steel and destruction;
and Belios (name can be changed), the god of wood and peace.
But this balance also has another side, a dark side, which are Five Demons, living in the darkest corners of Rivia (the demons don't have anything to look for, like for example Ignus who look over fire, but we can changed that, so for now I'll just give some names):
Balthazar
Bhaal (not to original, but the names in this case are for others to think of if those they wouldn't like, neither me nor Jackyl had better ideas)
Mephisto
Diablo
Lucifer
With that, the balance between good and evil was unharmed.
But it all changed on that one, fatal night:
From the deepest darkness of the world, one of the demon lords, Baltazar, gained power greater then all other demons put together.
He was able to gain The Black Crystal of Kedos (this is actually Jackyl's idea why Balthazar suddenly became the strongest of the
demons, since both 5 gods and demons were supposed to be equal), which gave him almost endless power.
Balthazar then awakened and desired to take control of the Rivia. Humans did not have any chances in the battle against him; therefore
the Gods felt the need to interfere. But it seemed that they've underestimated their opponent.
Baltazar was powerful and had the whole army of demons at his commend.
Without any other outcome, the Gods decided to make a desperate move: they've used their power to separate Baltazars power into pieces (number under work) and sealing them in the bodies of new-born children.
With his powers gone, Baltazar was once more thrown into darkness. The balance was saved.
But the gods used almost all their powers on sealing Balthazar.
With their current level, other demons didn't had any chances of coming into Rivia, therefore the gods decided to make a risky move: all of them has written a special scroll, which was supposed to keep Balthazar sealed. The scrolls were also the artifacts in which gods placed their souls in order to make the sealing spell stronger, at least until they'd recover most of their powers.
But one gods did not had fate in mere paper. Therefore he chooses a new-born child with the clearest heart he could find and placed the scroll on its body.
That god was Belios.
Years have past and soon the people have forgotten all about Balthazar (don't know who old Summer and Rain are supposed to be, but then again, Balthazar parts were separated when they were just born, so practically any age over 10 would do I guess). People get used to balance once more and prayed to their Gods as they were doing so for many hundreds of years.
But once more it all changed the day that mysterious old man appeared.
He talked about another god, a different god, a god that no-one heard about before: Xzar.
At first no-one even paid attention to the olds man bladder, but soon more and more people began to pray to Xzar, abandoning their old gods.
Xzar offered his believers great part. Those, who truly praised him, received powerful artifacts (name not given yet) which gave them advantage over mere humans (and elves and such if we decide that Rivia isn't the home of just people; that's actually also Jackyl's idea).
Some were powerful weapons, some were objects which gave special abilities to their user, other had even different properties.
The balance was broken.
Wars started to break out all over Rivia, fire consumed more and more cities, thousands of lives were lost. People realized that it was a mistake to turn away from their gods and some of them started to pray to them again. But this time, nobody responds.
Priests kept talking that the Five Gods disappeared, that they left Rivia to its own fate.
But the priest also said another thing: a mysterious myth about unique scrolls. These scrolls were the artifacts that the Five Gods left behind in order to protect Rivia. One scroll for one god, one scroll for every element of balance. As the legend said, if all, five scrolls would be united, balance would return to Rivia. But if anyone of them shall be destroyed, balance would be lost... forever.
Meanwhile, in one of the Rivia's kingdoms (name to be given if the story would be accepted), a young prince, Sheq has given Xzar believers the same rights as those who believes in the old Gods. This is due to his new adviser, Crall (who was also the one who presented Xzar to everyone in Rivia).
As soon as Crall appeared, the kingdom has started falling apart. The absence of the Five Gods was felt once more.
Our story begins in the small village, when two, childhood friends, Rain and Summer, came to the royal palace for the spring festival. They are yet to discover, that their visit will be the beginning of the bigest and most dangerous adventure in their whole lives.

gotta warn ya though...i havent got any software here ( photoshop,painters..etc) so my every submission is a raw scan ( i cant even determine the actual size of the submission once its posted here) and my penmanship sucks so ill just be submitting pages w/o dialogue...
hopefully you can cover these areas (like inserting text bubbles/text, photoshopping,etc...)
anyway...go for it

Ah true enough, the original was geared towards an ongoing series.
The chapter drak did is still in the group email account (my idea is too but that wouldn't work for a short story) i think we may be able to use drak's though with a little reworking.
The reason i sugest this is because it's about rain and summer going to a festival and enjoying it until the main bad guy (for the series version) shows up and then the series would've started.
However i was thinking we could use the idea of the two going to a festival.
But instead of a huge powerful villain some thugs kidnap summer and rain beats up the thugs and their boss, saves summer and that would be it.
That way all we need is summer, rain, maybe a few generic thugs and a cool looking thug leader and that should be it.
How many pages did ya want to do?
Ok i've gotta run at the moment but when i get the chance i'll clean off the group page 'kay.
IVE been out of touch for a long timeso i dont remember anything about that chapter you mentioned...but anyway personally i think it would be wise if we start off with a different story
or we can base that on this one but just reduce it to a oneshot level (that means a limited number of characters,about 5). think of it as a movie and not a series. Also, i suggest that we start by cleaning the page up coz well...we need a clean slate to work on.(just save the written texts on a document coz we might stil be able to use them in the future...) ^_^

i can provide with character designs ...but not daily.
on second thought maybe we can start everything again from scratch.
the storyline is much too detailed to be oneshot.
